Clean Tech STEM Curriculum
- Energy & Bioenergy Focus

The current climate crisis has become one of the most emergent challenges of our time. With the temperature across the globe rising and significant weather events including wildfire, hurricane, flooding, and drastic weather changes etc. In order to combat climate change, we are required urgently to find sustainable solutions to reduce carbon emissions.  Clean technology development is a solution to the problem.  As the climate crisis is highly related with the energy source. In history, energy has been transitioning from Carbon emission intensive fossil fuels energy source to carbon neutral, solar and wind energy. Would the next generation of energy be more sustainable and carbon negative? Cleantech offers innovative solutions to further reduce carbon footprints across many industries including energy and transportation. Adopting renewable energy sources while enhancing industries efficiency with novel clean energy sources, such as  bioenergy, hydropower, solar and wind that has the capability to minimize carbon emissions. These technologies provide sustainable and renewable energy compared to traditional fossil fuels which are non-renewable and unsustainable energy sources.

Objective

The main objective of BioEchem's Clean Tech STEM Curriculum is to provide standard content that emphasizes renewable energy adoption, sustainable development, and climate crisis reduction strategies, which can be taught digestibly to school students and integrated into their main course content. Through the Clean Tech STEM Curriculum, students will be given the resources and direction to pursue a career in clean technology.
By using BioEchem's novel clean technology, known as the Biological Battery, students will be provided the opportunity and tools to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the clean-tech workforce and ensure a more sustainable future for the next generation.
Currently, pertaining to net zero carbon goals, there are not many technologies that can be referenced as effective ways to curb/reduce carbon emissions and help achieve a net zero future. BioEchem's Biological Battery currently does exist as a carbon reduction technology that is aligned with the net zero goals established by environmental scientists.
Moreover, the Clean Tech STEM curriculum will delve into the scientific principles of energy storage technologies. Through BioEchem's novel Biological Battery, students will be able to learn about the principles of battery storage and how the biological battery is not just a carbon-neutral technology but rather a carbon-negative one. Additionally, the curriculum will focus on the environmental benefits of clean tech storage and compare it with the adverse environmental effects of traditional lithium and alkaline batteries in terms of their contribution to carbon emissions. Overall, BioEchem's Clean Tech STEM Curriculum aims to shift the focus from just facts and concepts to explaining and demonstrating phenomena by using novel technology with hands-on engineering exercises (2016 STE Standard).
